Privacy notice

This site is designed to work without collecting personal data about you. There are no user accounts, no email capture, and no advertising trackers.

Course progress

Your reading progress and quiz state are stored only in your browser's local storage, on your device. They are never sent to us. Clearing your browser data erases them; there is no way for us to restore them.

The completion record

When you pass the final knowledge check and request a completion record, your browser sends the name you typed and your quiz answers to our server once. The server checks the answers, computes your score, and returns a signed completion record. Your name and score are processed transiently for that single response and are not stored in any database. We keep an anonymous counter of how many records are issued; it contains no names.

Controller: Better ISMS (EURL), France (SIREN 943 594 648). Legal basis: our legitimate interest in issuing the completion record you explicitly request (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Recipients: our hosting provider, Vercel Inc., which processes requests on our behalf and applies short-lived technical request logging. Retention: no server-side retention of your name or score beyond transient processing and short-lived infrastructure logs. No use for marketing, no sharing with third parties.

The verification code inside your PDF encodes your name, score, and completion date, and is readable by anyone you give the code to. Share it only with people you want to verify your record.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics, a cookieless analytics service that collects aggregated page statistics without identifying visitors and without cross-site tracking.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and portability over personal data we hold. Since we do not store your personal data server-side, most requests are satisfied by design; for anything else, contact contact@betterisms.co. You may also lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (in France, the CNIL).
